The convention center venue rules take precedence over our event rules. In the case of conflicting information, please listen to the convention center management staff first.

Cosplay, Weapons & Props Rules

We reserve the right to refuse entry or confiscate items without refund if rules are violated. Confiscated items can be retrieved at the end of the event if legally permitted. For any unclear items, email us with details and photos for advice. We are not responsible for damage to props and costumes brought to the event.

✧ Cosplay Guidelines

  1. There are no restrictions on cosplay genres.
  2. If your costume resembles military, para-military, or law enforcement attire, please be aware of public perception. We strongly advise you to include indicators on the cosplay to show that it is a costume, so that it does not accidentally cause public alarm. This applies to other cosplays that bear the risk of causing public alarm.
  3. If your costume obscures your face, security may ask you to remove the obscuring item.
  4. Costumes that are oversized or have protruding features should be worn with caution to avoid accidents.
  5. The event staff reserves the right to ask any attendee to leave the event area or request the attendee to change out of costumes that are deemed inappropriate but not limited to, e.g. indecent exposure (public exposure of genitalia), make cause for public alarm (terrorist wearing a suicide vest), etc.
  6. Please do not engage in sexually suggestive poses or actions that make cause for public alarm, to avoid misunderstandings.
  7. Nudity, explicit attire, and adult fetish gear are not allowed.
  8. Skimpy costumes are fine but take precautions to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.
  9. Your wristband or handstamp must be placed on your left wrist, so please design costumes with that in mind.
  10. Bulky costumes (e.g., fur suits, armor) must have a guide.
  11. No costumes with flames, smoke, or dangerous electrical effects are allowed.
  12. Offensive, harmful, or inappropriate costumes will be addressed by staff.

✧ Prop & Replica Weapons Policy

  1. Real weapons are prohibited.
  2. If you are bringing replica weapons, please transport them in a covered bag and only take them out within the event area, in order to avoid misunderstandings.
  3. Anything that is able to discharge a projectile should be made safe. This includes functional bows and crossbows with tensioned strings. Nerf guns should be unloaded and/or batteries removed.
  4. Metal replica weapons are not permitted, regardless of length or blunt edges.
  5. No pyrotechnics, explosives, or incendiary items.
  6. Replica firearms must have orange-tipped muzzles. We may mark blasters and prop guns at the event for safety.
  7. Carry replica weapons non-aggressively; only pose aggressively with them for photos if necessary. Avoid shouldering rifles, fingers inside trigger guards, swords raised, etc. If possible, carry firearms with your fingers away from the trigger and pointed downwards, and weapons sheathed.
  8. Upon leaving, keep replica weapons concealed to avoid alarming the public and/or causing misunderstandings.
  9. Props must be inspected daily by the user to ensure they remain safe and in good condition.

✧ Banned Items

Metal blades (swords, knives, axes), guns, realistic firearms, slingshots, sharp objects, power tools, drones, and many others are not allowed.

Items bought at the event may be confiscated if they’re normally prohibited in public and will be mailed to you post-event.

✧ Permitted Items

Lightweight, non-dangerous items like small umbrellas or regular walking sticks (under 150cm) are allowed.

Foam or plastic weapons, including lightsabers, are fine if made from safe materials.

Melee props, such as swords and shields, must be lightweight and under 150cm (180cm for a narrow staff).

✧ Makeup Guidelines

At your own discretion, avoid using makeup or prosthetics that change skin tone or features to portray another race, as this may be able to cause controversy.

✧ If you're unsure whether your costume may be inappropriate, or if you have more questions, contact us directly via our website’s contact form.
